Quote for the day - Friday 5 September 2008

"Selfishness is one of the greatest hindrances to the cause of Christ."
D.L Moody

Meditating on the Word of God.

Open Bible The time we used outside Christ has caused many of our minds to be unproductive and unfocused in the things of God.

This is the first thing we need change when we become Christians (Ephesians 4:17-18, Romans 12: 1-3).

This is why meditating on the word is so important.

To meditate means to ponder, regurgitate, think aloud, consider continuously and utter something over and over again. (dictionary). This is exactly what we need to do with the word of God.

Speaking the Word of God out aloud aids us in focusing our minds on God. Although God speaks to our spirits we still need to understand His word in our minds. To understand the Word with our minds we need to focus on the word.

Speaking helps us to focus. The Psalmist knew this secret and used it.

God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Psalm 62:11 (NIV).
